Murder Hole depicts a U.S. Marine positioned behind a fortified fighting position in Sangin, Afghanistan, circa 2010, during some of the bloodiest fighting of the Global War on Terror. The composition reflects a moment that was common for many who served in Helmand Province, yet rarely documented with restraint or honesty.
This work is not a portrait of a specific individual, but rather a representation of a shared experience. Since sharing the painting publicly, numerous Marines have reached out saying ”that was me”, or “I know that guy”. That response reinforces what this piece set out to capture: a scene that was ordinary, enduring, and formative for those who lived it.
The original painting is 30" x 30 inch oil on linen. This print release preserves the square format and visual weight of the original while offering a carefully limited edition for collectors.

BORDER: 1 -inch white border on all sides

SHIPPING: Shipped rolled in a protective tube.
Once this edition of 50 is sold out, this size will never be reprinted.
